Uncork your inner sommelier, and scientist, at one of Orlando’s most unique wine and food events. The Science of Wine presented by Southern Glazer’s Wines and Spirits takes you through a tour of your wine—literally. Experience the science behind the taste and body of your favorite wines while dining on hand-selected pairings provided by some of Orlando’s best restaurants. Ready your mind, and palate, for a night of wining, dining, and learning.

Three demos are available in Dr. Dare’s Lab at listed times, limited seating is available for $20 per person.

Have you ever wondered why your favorite Cabernet compliments a grilled steak so perfectly, or which white wine would be best with the seafood dish you’re preparing? How do cooking methods impact the flavor of foods and help us determine which wines to serve? We’ll explore the science behind some classic food and wine pairings and discover what works, what doesn’t, and why, in this interactive food and wine tasting demo hosted by Swine & Sons Provisions.


 

Wine Seminar: Science Of Wine Idol

6:30–7:30 p.m.
Limited seats available; $20 per person

Have you ever wondered or wanted to learn how to judge wines? Well, this is your chance!

At this year’s Science of Wine seminar you will have the pleasure of learning how to taste and judge wines like the experts! The seminar will be hosted by Julie Pepi, CSW Director for Fine Wine in Florida for Trinchero Family Estates. Come sit, sip, judge and learn the different and amazing ways the professionals judge the wines of the world. At our judging seminar, you will be blind tasting and judging 3 red wines and 3 white wines. Exercise your senses and expand your wine knowledge to a whole new level!

Disclaimer: We suggest that you refrain from heavy perfumes or colognes (this includes lotions as well), no smoking or coffee at least 1 hour before seminar. We will be providing a glass of sparking champagne prior to the seminar to cleanse your palate. These suggestions are only made to ensure the maximum palate reaction to the wines and a successful tasting.

The Science of Wine raises critical funding in support of the Orlando Science Center’s mission, a 501(c)(3) organization. These funds are used to advance educational programs and provide the opportunity for children to explore the wonder and excitement of the Science Center.

Early bird tickets for $110 on sale through April 2, 2017. General admission tickets are $125, with members receiving a discounted rate of $100.
