Live from Orlando, it’s Science Night Live, Featuring Otronicon!

Enjoy everything you love about Otronicon–without the kids! Special programming is designed just for adults.

 

Explore cutting-edge technologies through fun interactive exhibits, plus meet the developers and engineers who create them right here in Central Florida! Play-test new indie games and check out creative designs from local artists. Special programming is designed just for adults. Call the babysitter and grab your friends, because you’re not going to want to miss this!

 

Featuring a new theme each time, no two Science Night Live events are the same. Bring your friends, or make a date night of it, and unleash your inner child at this unique experience that proves there’s no age limit on curiosity.

 

Please note that Science Night Live will require a separate event ticket and is not included with day pass admission to Otronicon.

Limited tickets are available for just $16 and usually sell out online in advance so purchase yours today!

Orlando Science Center Members receive complimentary admission but must reserve their tickets in advance. Check your email for a special ticket link or email oscmembership@osc.org to receive the promo code!

Main event parking is located at Orlando Science Center Garage on Princeton Street. Parking is free and on a first come, first served basis.

From the Orlando Science Center parking garage, cross pedestrian bridge on Level 2 into the Science Center lobby. An alternative entrance if parking off-site is through the bus Entrance A on Camden Road.

 

Ride Share drop-off and pick-up is only approved at Entrance A on Camden Road.

Limited tickets are available online only* for this event and will be emailed directly to you shortly after you complete your purchase. Tickets can be printed out or scanned directly from your mobile device.

 

When purchasing for multiple guests, please be sure that each person receives a unique ticket as barcodes will only work once.

 

If the event sells out, it will be communicated on this webpage and on the OSC Facebook page. Tickets will NOT be available at the door and Orlando Science Center cautions against purchasing resold tickets and cannot guarantee entry with them.

 

*Tickets for Florida Teachers and guests qualified Science For All admission must be reserved or purchased in person prior to event date.

If you have purchased your tickets more than 48 hours in advance, the program will be emailed to you before the event so you can see the schedule of all programming throughout the evening. Be sure to pick one up when you enter the Science Center too!

Food partners will have light bites and adult beverages available for purchase. Sip beer, wine or cocktails and enjoy small-plate edibles while you listen to music and get your geek on. We recommend purchasing with cash to reduce wait time and lines.

From Boeing engineers who work on spacecrafts to professors talking about the species within your feces, these speakers are guaranteed to leave you with a new sense of knowledge each and every Science Night Live.

Kate Edwards, Geogrify & Global Gam Jam

Back by popular demand, Kate Edwards will host a riveting presentation during Science Night Live!

 

Kate Edwards is the Executive Director of the Global Game Jam, as well as the CEO and principal consultant of Geogrify, a consultancy which pioneered content culturalization. She is also a Board Member of Take This and is the former Executive Director of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) from 2012 to 2017. In addition to being an award-winning advocate who serves in several advisory roles, she is a geographer, writer, and corporate strategist. Following 13 years at Microsoft, she has consulted on many game and non-game projects for BioWare, Google, Amazon, Facebook, and many other companies.

 

Fortune magazine named her as one of the "10 most powerful women" in the game industry in 2013 and in 2014 was named by GamesIndustry.biz as one of their six People of the Year. In 2018, she was honored with Reboot Develop’s annual Hero Award and also presented with IndieCade’s annual Game Changer Award. She is also profiled in the December 2018 publication Women in Gaming: 100 Professionals of Play.

Then, make your way to Dr. Dare's Lab, strap on a pair of goggles and a lab coat and become the scientist in these self-led experiments.
