Groups can come and explore together or allow their guests to arrive at their own time on the same day. Group visits are self-guided but facilitated add-ons are available for an additional fee.

Pompeii: The Immortal City

On display from October 26, 2020 to January 24, 2021.

Orlando Science Center is the last of only three sites in the United States to host this remarkable exhibit thanks to the Orange County Government through the Arts & Cultural Affairs Program.



In just 24 hours, the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 buried Pompeii. Today, the most advanced scientific research brings to light the extraordinary achievements of Pompeii and the Roman world.

Through artwork, interactive mechanical devices, and multimedia experiences, you will embark on a journey through time into the daily life of a first-century Roman town.

Find yourself in the center of events as you hear and feel the roar of the volcano erupting before your eyes. Discover how the excavation of Pompeii in the 18th century influenced the development of archaeology as a scientific study. Play the role of archaeologist through the use of digital interactives and replicas of artifacts from Pompeii.

Although this exhibition is appropriate for people of all ages, some of the art features era-specific depictions of men and women without clothing.

One guide per 15 guests is needed to guarantee a great experience! $100 per tour guide

Pompeii is the perfect exhibit for these times.
The artifacts displayed within this 10,000 square foot gallery encourage quiet contemplation while timed entry limits capacity and offers people ample time, and distance, to examine displays and better understand the magnificence and ultimate tragedy of this remarkable place.

Additional health and safety precautions include:

  • Limited exhibit capacity
  • Reduced capacity in the theaters
  • One-way flow throughout the exhibit
  • Hand sanitizing stations available
  • Regular cleaning and sanitizing of high touch areas
  • Social distancing markers
  • Following current CDC guidelines at the time of your visit

Group Adult Tickets: $22.00

Group Youth Tickets: $17.00

Group Senior Tickets (55+): $15; includes access to Pompeii: The Immortal City and a film.

Children ages 2 and under are complementary and do not count toward group total.

Group visits receive early access to the exhibit beginning at 9:00AM

Private tour guides are available for group visits.  1 guide per 15 guests is needed to guarantee a great experience!  $100 per tour guide.

To confirm a reservation, a $255 payment is required.  Payment will be applied toward final balance.  Final guest count and payment are both due 3 business days prior to group visit.

If your guest count changes between then and your arrival, additional guests can be added day of by checking in at the Admissions Desk and paying standard admission price. 

Group tickets are non-refundable.

Looking for an area to meet as a group, discuss business, give out awards, enjoy a meal together, our Founders Room is the perfect space! 

With a scenic view of Loch Haven Park, Founder’s Room is a versatile column-free space. The room can seat 100 people, classroom or banquet style, and contains a private galley that is ideal for caterers. 

Additionally, a 700 sq. ft. balcony area that can be used for registration, receptions, or displays lies directly outside of the room for your convenience.  Founders Room includes a screen, projector, and sound system.

Customize your visit by adding meeting space, food, and beverage options, a visit to our Flight Lab, time in The Hive: A Makerspace, or an animal encounter.
