SpeedScout Lab
November 8 & April 18
Welcome to the Speed Lab! Become a car engineer to design and create the fastest race car and test it while competing against your fellow scouts. Learn about forces and friction and how they can affect your race outcome. Work as a team to make the best speedster and race it along a track you create to become the champion!
This activity is designed for:
- Mechanical Engineering: Model Car (Daisy)
- Mechanical Engineering: Race car (Brownie)
Troop Circuit Club
November 8 & April 18
Dive into the Robotics World to learn about circuits, sensors, algorithms and… robots! Use your circuit knowledge to build a sensor which turns on a light that you can add to your very own robot creation! Write and test your algorithms while coding a friend to complete different tasks. Explore how computer science offers solutions to help people around us!
This activity is designed for:
- Robotics 1: Designing Robots (Junior)
- Robotics 1: Programming Robots (Cadette)
RoboScouts
December 13 & January 10
Explore the world of computer science to learn about robots and how they communicate. Build and program a robot to complete a task and decode secret messages using binary language; the language of computers.
This activity is designed for:
- Coding for Good: Coding Basics (Daisy)
- Robotics: What Robots Do (Daisy)
- Robotics: Programming Robots (Brownie)
- Coding for Good: Coding Basics (Brownie)
Girl Scouts Sleuths: Forensic Files
December 13 & January 10
Become crime scene investigators and follow the evidence to discover the truth! Test the ink samples using chromatography, identify mystery unknowns by their physical and chemical properties, learn blood-typing techniques, and collect fingerprints of a suspect using witness-based evidence to solve a scientific mystery.
This activity is designed for:
