Above & Beyond Presented by Boeing

Traveling Exhibit – Level 2

Presented by Boeing

Open February 2 – May 12, 2019

Above and Beyond, the ultimate flight exhibition, celebrates the greatest accomplishments in aviation. From the monumental first 12 seconds of flight, to the first steps on the Moon over 200,000 miles away, you’ll see just how far we’ve flown. Go on a journey with exhibits that propel you faster, higher, farther and smarter. The sky is the limit with humankind’s greatest adventure!

Science Live!

Don't miss the exciting live show So You Wanna Be an Astronaut? on the Science Live Stage, located inside the traveling exhibit hall.

Check the Science Live! Calendar or pick up a Daily Schedule to see what’s happening during your visit.

Enjoy these interactive exhibits and more when you land in this 5,000-square-foot exhibit hall!

  • Beyond the Limits
A wraparound theater immerses visitors in the emotional heart of the exhibition, celebrating the epic quest to challenge the limits of flight and the power of innovation to propel humans above and beyond every new horizon. A three-minute video, “Beyond the Limits,” features stunning high-definition imagery with soaring music in surround sound.
  • Full Throttle
By applying aerodynamic principles, visitors can design their own virtual fighter jet and race against other players in a high-speed flying competition.
  • Spread Your Wings
A group flying experience, where motion-sensing technology and computer graphics transform visitors into virtual birds. Visitors explore the forces of flight—lift, weight, thrust and drag—as they lean to steer, and flap and angle their wings to fly.
  • Elevator to Space
Visitors ascend to Earth’s orbit aboard a simulated space elevator of the future. During the ascent, breathtaking scenery, digital displays and a virtual tour guide describe the aircraft, spacecraft and natural phenomena visitors encounter along the way.

After you’ve experienced going up faster, higher, farther and smarter we can see that our quest into space is nowhere near done. Above and Beyond aims to inspire the next generation to imagine future careers in aerospace, and encourage an interest and build skills in STEM.

End your visit with videos of young aerospace employees who explain their inspirations and dreams of the future of flight. Even your own visions of flying can eventually turn into reality!
