Giving Tuesday is this Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017. Giving Tuesday is a global movement that focuses on philanthropy and generosity, encouraging people to give their time or resources to improve their communities. This is the event’s sixth year, always celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, to kick off the year’s most charitable season.
This year, we ask you to consider supporting Orlando Science Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, as part of your Giving Tuesday celebration. The Science Center seeks to be a valuable resource to our Central Florida community in many ways, but we need your support in order to fulfill our mission to inspire science learning for life.
In fiscal 2017, OSC provided innovative STEM education experiences for 146,664 students and educators during the school days, as well as 36,081 youth outside of class time. The Science Center also offers a safe place for families and friends to learn and explore together, serving 627,038 general admission guests last year. And, to serve guests in need, the Science Center created the Science for All access program, which allowed more than 30,000 visitors to experience the Science Center for just $3 per person last year by showing their EBT cards.
All of these initiatives, and many more, are part of Orlando Science Center’s commitment to STEM education for all stages of life. We invite you to participate in our mission by supporting the Science Center this Giving Tuesday or throughout the rest of this holiday season.
