All films included with general admission to the Science Center. No additional ticket necessary. 

With state-of-the-art 4K digital projection and 7.1 surround sound, the Digital Adventure Theater presents 3D feature-length Hollywood movies offering a fully immersive experience that is sure to please. A mainstay of any movie-going experience, guests can also purchase popcorn, candy and soft drinks from the Digital Adventure Theater concession stand.

Utilizing the XpanD X101 series of 3D active glasses, they produce higher picture quality, increased depth and less blur than passive 3D systems used by most movie theaters. The XpanD X101 series makes use of a specialized, fast-switching liquid crystal cell that provides rapid, stereoscopic shutter action to deliver alternate right- and left-eye images, thus producing the 3D effect. They are the most effective, comfortable and popular active shutter glasses in the world with more than 5,000 cinemas using them worldwide.

The mischievous Minions hope that Gru will return to a life of crime after the new boss of the Anti-Villain League fires him. Instead, Gru decides to remain retired and travel to Freedonia to meet his long-lost twin brother for the first time. The reunited siblings soon find themselves in an uneasy alliance to take down the elusive Balthazar Bratt, a former 1980s child star who seeks revenge against the world.

 

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – 3D

Peter Quill and his fellow Guardians are hired by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign, to protect their precious batteries from invaders. When it is discovered that Rocket has stolen the items they were sent to guard, the Sovereign dispatch their armada to search for vengeance. As the Guardians try to escape, the mystery of Peter’s parentage is revealed.

The film follows the misadventures of Jack Skellington, Halloweentown’s beloved pumpkin king, who has become bored with the same annual routine of frightening people in the “real world.” When Jack accidentally stumbles on Christmastown, all bright colors and warm spirits, he gets a new lease on life — he plots to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role. But Jack soon discovers even the best-laid plans of mice and skeleton men can go seriously awry.

 

 

Merry Madagascar

When Santa and his reindeer crash onto Madagascar it’s up to Alex, Marty, Gloria, Melvin, and the penguins to save Christmas.

 

 

 

 

Gremlins

5:10 p.m. Friday & Saturday, Dec. 22 – Dec. 23

A gadget salesman is looking for a special gift for his son and finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the “mogwai” but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. All of this happens and the result is a gang of gremlins that decide to tear up the town on Christmas Eve.

 

 

Die Hard

7:50 p.m. Friday & Saturday, Dec. 22 – Dec. 23

New York City policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and two daughters on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there’s no one to save the hostages — but him.
