That’s where your OSC wedding coordinator will step in. It is different everywhere you go, but consider asking each venue what their onsite coordinators do for you.

At Orlando Science Center, our events team works closely with vendors, and have created relationships that make it easy to communicate and work together to ensure every detail of a wedding is covered. Venue coordinators are a great resource to bounce ideas off of, as they’ve likely seen what has and hasn’t worked in the past.

What can an OSC wedding coordinator do for you? 

• Walk you through the space and talk through your diagrams and layouts to make sure your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are set up just the way you want
• Help move your guests from ceremony to cocktail hour, to reception
• Speaking of Reception! Event Coordinators can place any DIY decor and centerpieces for you, as well as do checks with all your vendors to make sure everyone has what they need for set-up and the room is perfect when doors open
• Conduct your wedding rehearsal and send everyone down the aisle on the big day
• Communicate and coordinate with all your vendors for details like timelines, load-in schedules, vendor needs, etc.
• Pack up at the end of the evening and send everything on it’s way with whoever the couple designates
• Be there for you every step of the way!

So, should you have a wedding coordinator? It’s easier to have a third party do these things on your big day. Coordinators are your representative and make sure what is important to you happens on that special day.

Whether it be placing a certain wine at your sweetheart table, putting out fires before you ever know something is off, or making sure you have your train bustled and boutonnieres pined, they are there for you!

From Downtown Orlando to galaxies far far away, check out the best wedding portrait backdrops in Orlando Science Center

When it comes to hosting your wedding or event at the Orlando Science Center, there is no shortage of unique photo locations to capture the perfect photo-op. They say a photo is worth a thousand words, but your wedding portraits should be priceless. From dinosaurs to Death Stars to stunning crystal hearts, some of the best wedding portrait backdrops in Orlando are all in one building. 

With everything from traveling and permanent exhibit halls, theaters, a stunning Terrace, a glass elevator, to even using the spiral staircase which surrounds our 4-story indoor Cypress tree, there is a unique and fun photo ready to be taken at every corner. 

A prime location for group photos or intimate shots is our Terrace. The west-facing Terrace provides one of the best wedding portrait backdrops in Orlando, featuring the beautiful Downtown Orlando skyline and stunning sunsets, all tied together with glowing market lights.

One of the most intimate and unique locations at OSC is our Observatory. Located on the sixth floor, the Observatory provides a birds-eye view of Downtown Orlando, ideal for sunset viewing. Inside the Observatory, red lighting provides a fun element to photos taken on the spiral staircase, or head up to our Observatory deck and pose next to Florida’s largest publicly accessible refractor telescope.

Looking for photos that are really out of this world? Look no further than Our Planet! This exhibit hall features a suspended globe that showcases any planet of your choice, many of their moons, the Milky Way Galaxy, and even the Death Star!

If you’re an animal lover, reach out to us about having live animals come mingle for some photos! OSC’s NatureWorks would be more than happy to bring a skunk or a baby gator to meet your guests and pose for some fun photos!

If live animals aren’t your thing, there is always a dino ready for their close-up in DinoDigs, and they are quite photogenic. Our t-rex, Stan, will even hold a custom-made sign in his mouth to commemorate your wedding or event and act as a photo op for you and your guests!

One of our all-time favorite spots to capture photos is the Sky Bridge, a glass enclosed bridge surrounded by greenery. Day or night, the glimmer of the dangling, handmade, rainbow crystal hearts will make for dazzling pictures.

Use the Sky Bridge for some intimate shots of you and your partner, or use it as a send-off location at the end of the evening to capture some fun photos of your guests wishing you well and sending you on your way as newlyweds!

When it comes to creating beautiful photos to look back on from your event at the Science Center, you don’t have to look far. Whether inside or outside of our building, there are plenty of backdrops to choose from.

DinoDigs, our largest indoor reception space, makes the perfect backdrop to welcome your guests into a Jurassic World unlike anything they’ve seen before. Our larger than life T-Rex will greet you as you walk in, and you’ll dance the night away surrounded by prehistoric fossils

Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life. The planning, while exciting, can also be a bit overwhelming at times.
