See 21st Century Science That Makes Robotic Surgeries Possible
The Da Vinci® Surgical Robot Presented by Intuitive Surgical Inc. and Florida Hospital
Otronicon Presented by Full Sail University
WHO: Guests to Otronicon will get a rare up close look at Intuitive Surgical Inc.’s innovative da Vinci® Surgical Robot. This technology offers surgeons a minimally invasive application in which to perform complex surgeries.
WHAT: Thanks to Intuitive Surgical Inc. and Florida Hospital, the da Vinci® Surgical Robot will be on display inside the Medical Sim City area at Otronicon. This groundbreaking technology enables a robotic arm to precisely translate the movements of a surgeon’s hands. Medical Sim City is presented by Florida Hospital.
WHEN: During Otronicon, January 15-16
Check daily schedule for display times
The Da Vinci® Surgical Robot will not be on display on January 17-18
Otronicon is open from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday
WHERE: Orlando Science Center, 777 East Princeton Street, Orlando 32803
WHY: Florida Hospital is leading the way with surgery using the da Vinci® Surgical Robot. Providing benefits to both patient and surgeon, it combines remotely operated robotic arms equipped with minute surgical instruments and 3D real-time imaging to allow for an increased level of precision, versatility, and control in intricate surgical procedures.
The depth of Leonardo da Vinci’s unprecedented understanding of human anatomy could likely parallel the sophistication of this revolutionary technology that enables a robotic arm to precisely translate the movements of a surgeon’s hands. This analogy led to the appropriate branding of the da Vinci® Surgical Robot.
Advantageous to the patient, this advanced medical practice affords benefits of reduced pain, diminished scarring and complications, less blood loss, lower infection risk and faster recovery.
Rarely does anyone outside of the operating room, get a chance to get this close to the da Vinci® Surgical Robot. Experience one of the leading examples of 21st Century Science at Otronicon.
COST: See the da Vinci® Surgical Robot with your admission to Otronicon, which is $17 for adults, $12 for kids (ages 3-11). Science Center members get free admission. Tickets also include access to four floors of videogames, simulators, workshops, competitions and more.
