WHO: Guests coming to the Orlando Science Center for Greenovations will get to make cookies using solar ovens!
WHAT: During Walmart $5 Day, all visitors get in for only $5 and get access to all the Science Center’s engaging exhibits and films plus enjoy activities and displays during Greenovations - a day-long exploration of renewable energy and green living.
WHEN: Saturday, October 16 - 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
WHERE: Orlando Science Center, 777 East Princeton Street, Orlando - Solar Ovens will be set up on the fourth floor terrace.
WHY: Targeted at the residential energy consumer, Greenovations offers hands-on activities for all ages with an environmental awareness focus. SUN BAKED GOODNESS! Cooking with a solar oven is easy and fun and helps the environment, too! The sun energizes your food using reflectors made of highly polished, mirror-like anodized aluminum. Demonstrations of solar ovens will include baking cookies using the sun with temperatures of 360-degrees or more (just like your oven at home) - no fossil fuels or electricity is required.
COST: Admission is only $5 for everyone (regular admission is usually $17 for adults, $12 for kids - ages 3-11).
