What’s New at OSC

July is a stellar, starry month at Orlando Science Center! Mark your calendars for our star-spangled Fourth of July science celebration, then join us for every Friday and Saturday for Science After Sundown as we view the spectacles in the sky through telescopes in the Crosby Observatory. Plus, don’t miss out on an out-of-this-world Space Exploration Weekend!

 

Traveling Exhibit: Hall of Heroes

Open Daily through September 3
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Immerse yourself in the world of superheroes, crime fighters, gadgets and spies in Hall of Heroes! You’ll find yourself in the midst of the action in your exciting journey through several different themed environments with surprises around every corner. Visitors of all ages will love this exhibit that combines science and science fiction and lets you discover your own super strengths.

RelevancEcology

Open Daily through Tuesday, August 7
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Artist German Lemus has found a new way to reuse and recycle by turning plastics, cardboard, bags and paper into works of art. German has found inspiration for his art through a passion for solving ocean. “RelevancEcology” includes pieces by Lemus and other local upcoming artists. Their work reminds guests that we can find other uses for our waste – and that’s not limited to making art! Now on view in Fusion: A STEAM Gallery at OSC.

 

Fourth of July Celebration

Wednesday, July 4
11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

This Fourth of July, the Science Center is combining history and science in a series of activities that bring out the best of this patriotic holiday!

There will not be fireworks at this event, but we’ll help you beat the heat between your barbecues and celebrations. Guests will have access to our summer traveling exhibit, Hall of Heroes, and the rest of our four floors of interactive exhibit halls. Plus, learn about the science of fireworks in our live show, Kaboom!

 

Science After Sundown

Friday through Sunday, July 6 & 7
5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

This summer, when the sun goes down, your IQ goes up as you experience science fun and discovery, plus a few added surprises, during late nights at Orlando Science Center. Explore all your favorite exhibits, enjoy stellar views in the observatory (weather permitting) and so much more.

Included with Science After Sundown, catch a screening of the original 1953 classic, War of the Worlds, at 7:50 p.m. in the Digital Adventure Theater.

 

Bank of America Museums on Us Weekend

Saturday and Sunday, July 7 & 8
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On the first full weekend of every month, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders enjoy free admission to Orlando Science Center. Cardholders will also receive 10 percent off a membership if they purchase on these two days. These deals apply to the cardholder only and do not include guests or children.

Included with Science After Sundown, watch The Last Starfighter (1984) in the Digital Adventure Theater.

 

Space Exploration Weekend

Friday and Saturday, July 20 – 22
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Get ready for a weekend full of special, space-related programming throughout the building. See special Science on a Sphere presentations, stargaze in the mobile planetarium, make themed projects in The Hive, and more!
