Summer Camps: Preschool & Grades K-6

Our Summer Camps are specially designed to develop an enjoyable, memorable experience that not only will be fun to the students, but will educate them in essential knowledge that they will be able to fully understand. These camps are designed to allow students to have a hands-on experience while learning about archaeology, mathematics, science, nature, and more, in ways that many classrooms cannot offer.

Summer Academy: Grades 7-9

For students entering grades 7th through 9th, our Summer Academy is specifically fashioned so that the knowledge gained can be easily applied to the real world, stimulating interest for these student’s futures and careers. The Academy is focused on topics that can open up a student’s views on possible future careers in subjects dealing with the medical field, engineering, robotics, forensics, computer and gaming design, and even NASA.

Chocolate Camp? Where was this when I was a kid?!

Money doesn’t grow on trees, but chocolate does! The Cacao, a small tropical tree, can produce close to 2,000 pods per year! But did you know that the chocolate is not made from these football shaped fruits, but rather the seeds that are inside them! Through fermentation, the “beans” turn dark brown, and become more edible and chocolate-like. After they are dried, they are shipped to factories where they are turned into chocolate.

In our brand new Summer Camp "Let’s Get Cooking", children will not only learn about where chocolate comes from, they’ll find out how to design their own chocolate bar and prepare homemade fudge. They’ll also recognize the connections between science and foods that we cook and eat through a multitude of unique cooking actives and demonstrations.

Finally, a summer camp with pop!

Everybody loves ice cream, but did you know that it takes 12 pounds of milk to make just one gallon of ice cream? And in the U.S., the average person eats 48 pints of ice cream per year, more than any other country! But the craziest ice cream stat is this: in 1988 at Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the biggest ice cream sundae in history was made. It weighed over 24 tons! Based off the average ice cream a person eats per year, it would take over 800 people to finish this gigantic treat!

There are lots of fun things to know about ice cream, including how to make your own! And in our new Summer Camp "Kitchen Concoctions", we teach you just how to do that, as well as other fun dishes like root beer floats, pancakes, and Kool-Aid gun drops, all while learning the impact science has on food and cooking! Check out our other new camps designed with the food in mind, including Lil’ Chefs and Grocery Cart Science!
