Greenovations
Green Today, Here Tomorrow
Presented by OUC The Reliable One
Sunday, May 5, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Have fun and learn how to be more eco-friendly during a day of activities that explore renewable energy, recycling and energy efficient technology when Orlando Science Center celebrates Greenovations! The event is presented by OUC The Reliable One in collaboration with the Science Center with support from the Florida Renewable Energy Association and other community partners.
- Participate in solar-based activities on the SunTrust Terrace courtesy of FREA and OUC The Reliable One as they demonstrate how photovoltaic cells work. What’s more, enjoy making s’mores with solar cookers!
- World Housing Solutions will feature earth-friendly building materials and show how they can withstand seismic activity from an earthquake, for example.
- The City of Orlando will bring the EnviroScape to demonstrate how pollution affects our water sources. Also in attendance will be everyone’s favorite planet-saving superhero, The Grease Fighter, for photo-ops throughout the day.
- Lemongrass Edible Landscaping will exhibit interactive activities that demonstrate sustainable agriculture and permaculture. Harry P. Leu Gardens will also be on hand to discuss what plants should be used in a butterfly garden, and representatives from Waste Management will have recycling activities and coloring books.
Support by the Walmart Foundation is making $5 admission available so everyone can learn more about the small steps that can make a big impact toward caring for our planet.
