A Themed Museum Explores the History, Technique and Cultural Significance of Chocolate

WHAT: The Festival of Chocolate is coming soon to the Orlando Science Center and bringing with it a one-of-a-kind artistic chocolate-themed museum, which will house displays introducing guests to the rich history of chocolate. Interactive displays will bring to life the chocolate production process while other areas will explore chocolate's impact on art, traditions and culture.
The Festival of Chocolate is the region's largest chocolate shopping, tasting, educational and interactive experience. With four floors of chocolate, including more than 30 vendors with everything from truffles, cakes, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, ice cream, toffee, coffee and more! The event features demonstrations by renowned pastry chefs, competitions, judging of the "Best of" Chocolate Indulgence, chef, adult and child chocolate competitions, a Kids-4-Chocolate area and an Adult-4-Chocolate workshop, the art and science of chocolate and much more.
WHEN: Saturday & Sunday, March 6 & 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WHY: The Chocolate-Themed Museum at the Festival of Chocolate will show guests anything and everything about the tasty treat that has fascinated, and obsessed, civilizations for centuries. This interactive and educational display will illuminate the history, technique and cultural significance of chocolate. This experience will stimulate the mind as well as the tastebuds.
During the Festival of Chocolate, guests will also learn chocolate’s health and lifestyle benefits plus check out local and regional vendors showcasing their confections for taste and purchase. Throughout the weekend, award-winning pastry chefs and master chocolatiers from Central Florida will perform culinary demonstrations for guests.
COST: Admission to the Festival of Chocolate is included with the general admission to the Orlando Science Center, which is $17 for adults and $12 for kids (ages 3-11). During the Festival of Chocolate, guests are also welcome to experience all the Science Center's exhibits, including Frogs and Science in Toyland and giant screen films like Amazon and Mystic India. Each ticket purchase will be entered into a Chocolate Decadence raffle drawing featuring many gourmet chocolate creations from Central Florida's most acclaimed businesses
During the Festival of Chocolate, guests can purchase "Chocolate Chips" to use as currency with the vendors. Chocolate Chips have the value of $1 and are the ONLY currency accepted for purchases during the Festival of Chocolate. Chocolate Chips can be purchased at the time of ticket purchase and throughout multiple booth locations with CASH, MASTERCARD OR VISA.
