Most people look at the Science Center as a fun and educational place to go on a Saturday afternoon...
What they might not realize is that we’re also trusted partners to the school systems of the areas we serve. Our educational programs supplement traditional classroom learning with a valuable informal education and serve to build on the foundation of knowledge kids gain in school. Most importantly, they further the mission of increasing competency in S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) competency.
Our educational programs include:
- Field Trips
- Off-Site Programs
- School Break Camps
- Summer Camps & Academy
- Science Competitions
- Homeschool Programs
- Scout Programs
- And much more
These activities enhance classroom experience and provide students with a different way of looking at science, math and technology.

JP Morgan Chase has awarded Orlando Science Center $90,000 to continue the Science Literacy Program at Evans High School in Orlando. Now in its fourth year, the program will focus on chemistry education and strive to increase the number of students who seek further education in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields.
Orlando Science Center’s Kellen Nixon, Director of Educational Development, said, “We are extremely grateful for the educational partnership we’ve established with JP Morgan Chase. Together, we are positively changing student attitudes toward science learning at Evans.”
The Evans Science Literacy Program works with both students and their teachers through hands-on workshops and teacher professional development classes. Student workshops include interactive demonstrations and experiments that tie to real world applications and careers.
