Orlando Mini Maker Faire
at Orlando Science Center
Saturday & Sunday, September 13 & 14, 2014
Orlando Mini Maker Faire 2014 will be a two day event!
Orlando Mini Maker Faire is an annual community-organized, family-friendly celebration featuring local do-it-yourself science and technology, art, rockets, robots, crafts, music, hands-on-activities, and more. It’s a place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning.
The individuals behind these exhibits are known as “Makers” and they range from tech-enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. Makers are of all ages and come from many backgrounds. They all share a love for innovation and creativity, as well as an educational spirit to inspire and encourage new Makers. Orlando Mini Maker Faire features displays and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft.
This year's event will feature many of the amazing Makers from our 2012 and 2013 events, new Makers from within our community AND an additional 7,500 square feet of exhibit space!

On March 15 and 16, Orlando Science Center hosted the first Young Maker Workshop of the year. Centered around the Raspberry Pi, kids learned about the credit card-sized single-board computer and basics of computer science.
Once a month as Orlando Mini Maker Faire approaches, the Science Center is hosting Young Maker Workshops. The idea is to engage your little one in Maker-inspired activities with local professionals, while children and families work together to build and collaborate.
The Young Maker Workshop series will be offered at the Science Center on select weekends in Dr. Dare’s Lab. No registration is required. These workshops are included with paid admission or membership to the Science Center.
