Red Giants – Summer A, B & C
Currently accepting applications for summer 2014

The primary role of our Red Giants is to support the Orlando Science Center and enrich our visitors’ experiences in our exhibit halls. Spend your day interacting with visitors of all ages as you lead activities such as scientific demonstrations, educational games and facilitating activities in exhibit halls.

Youth applying for a Red Giant summer position have 3 sessions to choose from: Summer A (June 9-July 11), Summer B (July 7-August 8), or Summer C (June 9-August 8). We offer the flexibility of 3 options, so please determine which of these will work best for you and your family before applying, as you will need to indicate which session you would like to apply for on the application

Summer A & B:

Youth Volunteers participating in Summer Session A or B commit to 5 weeks of service during which they commit to a 9:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. shift for a minimum of 2 days a week (maximum of 4 days a week) for all 5 weeks.

*We strongly encourage youth volunteers to select Summer A or Summer B. Summer C (below) is only to be selected when there is no way to meet the attendance requirements of Summer A or B.

Summer C:

Youth Volunteers participating in Summer Session C commit to 8 weeks of service during which they commit to a 9:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. shift for a minimum of 1 day a week (maximum of 2 days a week) for 7 out of the 9 weeks of our summer program.

*This option should only be considered by volunteers who cannot fulfill the attendance requirements of Summer A or Summer B.

Red Giants Requirements:
  • Must be at least 13 years old at time of application.
  • Must be willing to provide the minimum service requirement for your chosen session.
  • Must be able to attend a quarterly orientation. If you are unable to attend on the scheduled date, please consider applying at another time.

Please Note – by May 31, 2014 you will need to provide your final schedule for the summer session you select. Volunteers are required to commit to a schedule and changes after this date will be minimal and considered only in case of emergency. You will have your complete summer schedule set before your first day of volunteering.

If you are unable to commit to these time requirements, please do not apply at this time.
