Don't miss the latest Membership-related info!

Mark DeMaio, local music enthusiast, led our youngest members in a KidsTown jam session at September's Member Monday. Children danced while playing drums, tambourines, shakers and other instruments. The event also included a musical parade around the exhibit hall and a coloring activity.

We invite you to join us at our next Member Monday on Monday, October 13 from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Spend one hour in our newest exhibition, Bats: Myths and Mysteries, and participate in a special craft and activity. Kick off the autumn season by getting an up-close and-personal look at the real, live bats who will be temporarily inhabiting the Science Center.

Also, Nemours Brightstart! will offer FREE reading readiness screenings for three, four and five-year-olds during Member Monday. Screenings typically last five to 10 minutes and are followed by a discussion about your child's results. For more information on screenings or to schedule an appointment, please contact Nemours BrightStart! at 407.650.7731.

Kids gotta rock!

Upbeat tunes filled the Digital Adventure Theater: A National Geographic Experience last Saturday when Mr. Richard came back to rock the house. A fan favorite among members, Mr. Richard had no problem getting our youngest members on their feet dancing to his rock n’ roll tunes. His album hits "Airplane" and "Cheese" got the kids singing and interacting with one another – definite crowd pleasers!

Members spent exclusive time in KidsTown at the July Member Monday and experienced a close encounter with two Magellanic penguins from SeaWorld! Inspired by these cute furry friends, member children crafted their very own penguins from paper supplies.

Join us for our next Member Monday on August 11 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. when families can learn about exercise and fitness. Dr. Elizabeth Davis of Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children specializes in sports medicine and will be leading demonstrations. Put on your workout gear — this event is sure to keep you on your toes!

On July 4, our members celebrated our country's birthday at the annual 4th of July Member Celebration!

Decked in patriotic garb, members participated in activities including face painting, a patriotic light show and bubble-making on the terrace. They also made s'mores using a solar oven, launched "Alka-Seltzer rockets," and witnessed what happens when you mix Diet Coke and Mentos (hint: think the-soda-version-of-fireworks)!
