There is a new Young Maker Workshop series being offered at the science center on select weekends. The Young Maker Workshops will highlight various skills and projects in Dr. Dare’s Lab. Children and families can work together to build and collaborate. Throughout the year we will hold various projects from circuit building, soldering, Arduino programming, and raspberry pi.
March 15 & 16, 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.
This weekend we will be holding a workshop on Raspberry Pi (to celebrate Pi Day). These introductory workshops require no previous experience with a Raspberry Pi and will be hosted by Mac Rutan, who is a professor at Full Sail and a member of FamiLab.
The 11:30 a.m. workshop will be a general introduction into Raspberry Pi. The workshops at 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. will use Raspberry Pi to change some of the Minecraft game coding.
No registration is required, so just plan to arrive at Dr. Dare’s laboratory (located on Level 4) to get a seat for the workshop. These workshops are included with paid admission or membership to the Science Center. Visit the Maker Workshops page for a list of the other upcoming weekends.
