This past weekend guests joined us for a unique talk with Sir Dr. Harold Kroto, co-recipient of the 1996 Nobel Prize in chemistry. In a special presentation about his work in the field, attendees learned all about how Sir Kroto forever changed chemistry with the discovery of buckminsterfullerene, or "buckyballs".

Otronicon v.9 is in the can and it’s time we roll the credits on the inaugural FilmSlam! More than two dozen films were submitted in the genres of animation, gaming, science fiction, fantasy, cult and horror and screened for a live audience on the second day of Otronicon in the Digital Adventure Theater: A National Geographic Experience.

Congratulations to all the filmmakers selected to showcase their film and who won awards!

And that’s all she wrote! The ninth annual Otronicon has come to a close as the final day featured a panel on how video games can make us smarter. Of course, it was also the last chance to experience the larger-than-life video game experiences and state-of-the-art medical and military simulators.

The Game Jam continued at Otronicon, with five teams competing for 48-hours straight to design the best game for the Oculus Rift. Presented by UCF School of Visual Arts & Design and E2i Creative Studio.

Microsoft and Sony present the latest in video game and home entertainment consoles with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, respectively. In addition, check out Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2 and Sony’s Personal 3D HDTV Viewer.
