Don't miss the latest Membership-related info!
Monday, March 9, 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Member Mondays are that special time when you get to come into the Science Center before it's open to the public. This month we're making just a tad more special with some special guests: Sugarcrash Kids!

Joshua Pearson and Jeremiah John Dunlap started the Sugarcrash Kids "to make the world a wee bit brighter," pleasing both young and adult ears with charming songs like "The Potty Song" and "I Got Hiccups." They will bring an acoustic set of their whimsical tunes to Member Monday.

For more information on Member Monday, call 407.514.2158. To learn more about the Sugarcrash Kids, visit here.

Please note: Nemours Brightstart! will not be conducting reading readiness screenings at this Member Monday, but will return in April.

We got messy for the first Member Monday of 2015! Member families exercised their creativity by painting using balloons as paint brushes! Also, Nemours Brightstart! offered free reading readiness screenings for the 3-to-5-year-olds.

It was so much fun that it was scary at the 11th annual Spooktacular event!

Member families came dressed in their best costumes for a safe Halloween adventure that included trick-or-treating, face painting, spooky science demos and hands-on activities.

On September 20 the Orlando Science Center premiered the Bats: Myths and Mysteries traveling exhibit. Members got a first glance of the creatures from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in their very own exclusive preview. They had an up-close look at 25 live bats while learning fun facts about these crepuscular creatures.

Guests also got the chance to make their own paper bats to take home and put on display. The Organization for Bats Conservation were on-site sharing their knowledge on how to enjoy our bat friends in the wild. If you didn't get a chance to visit this interactive exhibit yet, come check it out check before it flies away.

Mark DeMaio, local music enthusiast, led our youngest members in a KidsTown jam session at September's Member Monday. Children danced while playing drums, tambourines, shakers and other instruments. The event also included a musical parade around the exhibit hall and a coloring activity.

We invite you to join us at our next Member Monday on Monday, October 13 from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Spend one hour in our newest exhibition, Bats: Myths and Mysteries, and participate in a special craft and activity. Kick off the autumn season by getting an up-close and-personal look at the real, live bats who will be temporarily inhabiting the Science Center.

Also, Nemours Brightstart! will offer FREE reading readiness screenings for three, four and five-year-olds during Member Monday. Screenings typically last five to 10 minutes and are followed by a discussion about your child's results. For more information on screenings or to schedule an appointment, please contact Nemours BrightStart! at 407.650.7731.
