Nothing captures our curiosity more than the future, and nothing captures the future better than Otronicon.

Next Event: January 17 - 20, 2014

What if tomorrow’s heart surgeons were trained on state of the art, simulated patients? What if, someday, you could learn from the world’s most renowned companies – without leaving your desk? What if an evening on the town in ten years meant a virtual stroll through the streets of Paris?

For full information, visit the Otronicon website at www.otronicon.org!

If you have a passion for technology, simulators, and video games in general, mark your calendars for the most interactive technology expo in Central Florida - Otronicon. This event takes the world of video games and simulation, and transforms them into in-depth immersive experiences.

There will also be classes in video game creation, as well as exclusive peeks at simulators created by experts in the field. This is the one weekend when the Orlando Science Center leaves its doors open for extended evening hours, so be sure to plan on experiencing all of the interactive fun at Otronicon.

Otronicon is a celebration of interactive technology that takes place each January at Orlando Science Center. It offers a glimpse into the future and a demonstration of how interactive technology will impact how we work, learn and play. At Otronicon, guests walk on the cutting edge through state of the art video games, digital media, digital art, and workshops – not to mention military and medical simulators typically not available to the public.

Otronicon is open to the public for four full days. The event also adds value to the community through a strong field trip component.

My son thinks he is interested in this
(digital media) as a career. I can’t
think of a better place for him.

driving his son from Jacksonville to spend it at Otronicon.

Otronicon enjoyed a VIP visit from Congressman Daniel Webster during the first day of the ninth annual technology festival at the Orlando Science Center. During his visit, Congressman Webster experienced a flight simulator courtesy of Lockheed Martin, graced the cover an EA SPORTS video game, saw a woman once restricted to a wheelchair walk again thanks to an Ekso Bionics exoskeleton and so much more. Orlando Science Center and its Otronicon partners thank Congressman Webster for joining us today. We enjoyed giving him a glimpse of the innovation that can be found right here in Central Florida.

City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs joined Science Center President and CEO JoAnn Newman to officially launch Otronicon v.9 at Orlando Science Center. Event included a demonstration of the Ekso Bionic Suit, which helps “test pilot” Sarah Anderson walk after losing the use of her legs in a car accident.

New partners Microsoft and Sony join the likes of Walt Disney World Resort, EA SPORTS, Florida Hospital for Children, Lockheed Martin and the University of Central Florida, plus many other technology leaders to explore Orlando’s impact on the worlds of entertainment, simulation, education, health care and more.

To a kid, Otronicon is a dream come true — four floors of video games, robots, virtual reality and more. While the event can be known for the fun that can be had, it’s also recognized for sparking a child’s interest in science and tech careers through the appeal of interactive technology.

The event promotes the concept of “made in Orlando, played in Orlando” with many chances to interact with the creative professionals that make popular video games and discover the growing career opportunities available locally.
