What’s New at OSC

May is Messy Science Month. Experience the gooey, slimy, and messy month of May! Throughout the month we will have fun, hands-one science activities that let you get your mess on!

 

Traveling Exhibit: Mindbender Mansion

Open Daily through May 13
Enter the wonderfully puzzling world of Mindbender Mansion! This eclectic exhibit that takes the concept of brainteasers to a dizzying new level with interactive challenges guaranteed to test the brain power and problem-solving skills of even the most experienced puzzlers!

 

Summer Camps Open House

Saturday, May 5
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join us for the Summer Camps Open House to get all the information you’ll need before your first day of summer camp at Orlando Science Center, plus meet the camp staff, tour your classrooms, and more. No need to RSVP; just come to Orlando Science Center on Saturday, May 5 and follow the signs to the Open House.

 

Bank of America Museums on Us Weekend

Saturday and Sunday, May 5 & 6
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On the first full weekend of every month, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders enjoy free admission to Orlando Science Center. Cardholders will also receive 10 percent off a membership if they purchase on these two days. These deals apply to the cardholder only and do not include guests or children.

 

Sensory Sunday

Sunday, May 6
9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Sensory Sundays present everything you love about the Science Center while offering a wonderful relief from extra stimuli, giving our visitors a chance to visit select exhibit halls at quieter volume settings and with more light. During this event, you can explore the Science Center with fewer crowds and help prepare children for future visits that might be busier. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a movie with softer volume and more ambient light in our theater.

 

Homeschool Program

Monday, May 7
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Join us monthly during the school year for a hands-on STEM workshop for homeschooled students, designed for your student’s grade level. The program also includes an educational film and time to explore our exhibit halls. Advance registration is recommended to secure your place.

 

Pint-Sized Science Drop-Off Program: Trek Through the Tropics

Friday, May 11
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Pint-Sized Science is a drop-off program designed for children ages 3-5 to explore science with their friends. During this three-hour program, they will discover and learn about a range of science topics, from bubbles to physics to machines and more! They will be guided through simple lessons accompanied by hands-on activities and science-infused play. Registration required.

 

Solar Viewing

Saturday, May 12
3 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

Head up to the Crosby Observatory and get a more in-depth look at the closest star to the Earth — our sun! After checking out the sun, learn about the telescopes that let us explore the solar system. Please remember that observing outer space requires good weather here on Earth.

 

Inspire Science Breakfast

Thursday, May 17
8 a.m. to 9 a.m. 

Each year, the Inspire Science Breakfast brings close to 200 community members together, all with the purpose of showing how Orlando Science Center is improving lives within our Central Florida family. Please join us as we raise funds to continue making an impact in our community. Reservations are required. To RSVP, please email inspirescience@osc.org.

 

Mess Fest

Saturday & Sunday, May 19 & 20
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Mess Fest is back this year, featuring not only well-loved favorites, but also new activities that are bigger and messier than ever. Explore five Mess Zones, including cosmic mess, mess on the terrace, and more!

Pint-Sized Science is a drop-off program designed for children ages 3-5 to explore science with their friends. NEW EXHIBIT! Hall of Heroes

Opens Saturday, May 26
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Immerse yourself in the world of superheroes, crime fighters, gadgets and spies in Hall of Heroes! You’ll find yourself in the midst of the action in your exciting journey through several different themed environments with surprises around every corner. Visitors of all ages will love this exhibit that combines science and science fiction and lets you discover your own super strengths.
