What’s New at OSC

Traveling Exhibit: Mindbender Mansion

Open now through May 13
Enter the wonderfully puzzling world of Mindbender Mansion! This eclectic exhibit that takes the concept of brainteasers to a dizzying new level with interactive challenges guaranteed to test the brain power and problem-solving skills of even the most experienced puzzlers!

 

Adults-Only Science Night Live

Saturday, March 3
8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. 

Science Night Live at Orlando Science Center is your chance to spark your curiosity through our fun exhibits and programs… with some adult beverages, of course! Bring your friends, or make a date night of it, and join us for a unique and ever-changing experience that proves there’s no age limit on curiosity! This event tends to sell out, so be sure to reserve your tickets in advance.

Seuss Days

Saturday and Sunday, March 3 & 4
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Join us in KidsTown for a Seussical celebration! Orlando Science Center is throwing a birthday party for Dr. Seuss! Our celebration will include stories, crafts, and activities based on some of Dr. Seuss’ most-loved stories and characters in New KidsTown on Level 2. Enjoy special StoryTime in Harriett’s KidsTown Theater, Seuss crafts, Seuss games and more! Plus, don’t forget to wear your favorite Seuss costume to the event!

 

Bank of America Museums on Us Weekend

Saturday and Sunday, March 3 & 4
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On the first full weekend of every month, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders enjoy free admission to Orlando Science Center. Cardholders will also receive 10 percent off a membership if they purchase on these two days. These deals apply to the cardholder only and do not include guests or children.

 

Homeschool Program

Monday, March 5
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Join us monthly during the school year for a hands-on STEM workshop for homeschooled students, designed for your student’s grade level. The program also includes an educational film and time to explore our exhibit halls. Advance registration is recommended to secure your place.

Pint-Sized Science Drop-Off Program: Science with Dr. Seuss

Friday, March 9
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Pint-Sized Science is a drop-off program designed for children ages 3-5 to explore science with their friends. During this three-hour program, they will discover and learn about a range of science topics, from bubbles to physics to machines and more! They will be guided through simple lessons accompanied by hands-on activities and science-infused play. Registration required.

 

Lockheed Martin Science Challenge

Saturday, March 10
1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Lockheed Martin Science Challenge provides an intermediate event between county science fairs and the state science fair. Only students who have won first-place in their county science fairs’ physical science competitions are invited to compete in the Lockheed Martin Science Challenge. Participating counties are: Brevard, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia. Projects will be on display in the Orlando Science Center rotunda from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10 for public viewing. A private awards ceremony will follow. 

 

Young Maker Workshops: Locksmith Skills

Saturday and Sunday, March 10 & 11
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This month, learn about the designs of different locks, and how tools are used to open them. You’ll see the different mechanisms inside of locks and find out why they are able to stay secure!

This workshop is recommended for guests ages 8 and up. Guests under 12 must bring an adult. In this special edition of Young Maker Workshops, Dr. Dare’s Lab will be open all day for open lock tinkering. Drop in to join us at any time!

 

Solar Viewing

Saturday, March 10
3 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

Head up to the Crosby Observatory and get a more in-depth look at the closest star to the Earth — our sun! After checking out the sun, learn about the telescopes that let us explore the solar system. Please remember that observing outer space requires good weather here on Earth.

 

School Break Camps

Give your child a productive and fun way to spend their time off from school with a program that offers students in grades K through 5 the chance to learn more about STEM in an exciting, interactive environment. Register early to secure your spot!

 

Top Secret Weekend

Saturday & Sunday, March 24 & 25
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This weekend is all about cracking codes and solving crimes! Collect evidence and analyze it in the lab to determine which suspect is guilty. Then, use a cipher to get a secret password that you can use for a fun surprise!

We will actively explore diverse topics in science through hands-on science activities, experiments, songs, movement and more. Cosmic Golf Challenge

Join us for Orlando Science Center’s annual Cosmic Golf Challenge! Proceeds will benefit educational programs and opportunities for youth and families to experience fun and meaningful experiences at Orlando Science Center. Your philanthropic support provides more than 627,000 people of all ages an opportunity to experience STEM by engaging in hands-on activities and exhibits.
