Orlando Science Center Party for the Planet

Orlando Science Center is having a party and you’re invited!

On Saturday, April 23, 2016, we’re having a Party for the Planet to celebrate Earth Day!

Join us to meet with local vendors to learn more about conservation, green and sustainable programming, and more! Enjoy live animal interactions and feedings in NatureWorks and get crafty with some upcycling activities!

Animal Experiences

Learn more about our native Floridian friends in NatureWorks on Level 1! Come see Orlando Science Center’s coral reef and swamp inhabitants and learn about their habitats and habits during the Fish Feeding Frenzy and Swamp Talks! Some of our reptilian friends will also be out on the floor to interact with visitors at select times!

Upcycling Crafts

(Remember to bring a T-shirt!)

Go green by creating your own reusable shopping bag! Visitors are encouraged to bring in an old T-shirt and participate in a workshop where they will learn how to upcycle and create a no-sew, washable tote bag! This guided activity will take place in Dr. Dare’s Lab on Level 4 at 11:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30.

Our littlest learners can also join in on the fun with Earth Day-themed sensory activities and crafts in KidsTown on Level 1!

Learn How You Can Protect Your Planet!

More than 15 Earth Day vendors will be present with themed exhibits and information about topics like beach cleanup, recycling, water conservation, birds of prey, honey bees, shark and bat conservation, invasive species, the environment and more!
